Warlley Alves Concludes 10-Year UFC Journey

Brazilian welterweight Warlley Alves has parted ways with the UFC after a decade-long tenure, concluding his time in the promotion with an even 8-8 record.

The 34-year-old fighter’s UFC journey began in 2014 when he emerged victorious in the third season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil. Alves, who was part of Chael Sonnen’s team, secured three wins on the reality show before clinching the middleweight trophy by submitting Marcio Alexandre Jr. in May 2014.

Alves’ UFC career started with a bang as he returned to the welterweight division and notched three consecutive victories. His impressive run included guillotine choke wins over Nordine Taleb and future interim champion Colby Covington. However, his momentum was halted by back-to-back decision losses to Bryan Barberena and another future UFC champion, Kamaru Usman.

The Brazilian fighter’s career thereafter was marked by inconsistency, managing only four wins in his next ten bouts. His UFC tenure came to an end following a string of four consecutive defeats between 2021 and 2024. This losing streak included stoppage losses to Jeremiah Wells and Ikram Aliskerov, as well as decision defeats against Nicolas Dalby and Abus Magomedov.
