Fabio Wardley vs. Justis Huni Weigh-In Overview

Fabio Wardley and Justis Huni registered very similar weights during their official weigh-in today, showing little to separate the two heavyweight competitors ahead of their anticipated bout.

This showdown pits England against Australia for the vacant WBA Interim heavyweight title. Wardley is aiming to cement his status as the division`s number one contender by securing the most significant win of his professional career. He hit the scales at 243 lbs, precisely the same weight as his memorable first fight against Frazer Clarke. Justis Huni, in contrast, weighed in at his personal heaviest to date at 248 lbs.

The fight is set for tomorrow night at Portman Road, the home ground of Ipswich Town, the football club Wardley passionately supports. A large crowd is expected to be there, predominantly cheering for the local favorite. When asked by Queensberry`s Dev Sahni about feeling any pressure, the 30-year-old Wardley responded:

“No nerves at all. This is exactly what I`ve been working towards over the past few years with my team, Frank, the club, and everyone involved who helped make this dream a reality. We`re only hours away now. Tomorrow night will be massive.”

He added, “It`s been a calm and relaxed fight week, easing into all the events. It`s great seeing familiar faces – family and friends are all around. But don`t worry, the switch will flip come fight night.”

Both fighters appeared composed at the weigh-in. The 26-year-old Huni stated he is ready to embrace the challenge of entering what many see as the `lion`s den`.

“I love it, absolutely love it. I`m soaking up the whole experience and embracing the moment. I can`t wait for tomorrow night. It`s time to have some fun now. I took this fight on short notice, just six weeks, and here I am. The hard work is done. Now it`s time to step out there, enjoy myself, and demonstrate what I`m all about to this part of the world.”
