Vito Mielnicki Jr and Connor Coyle Battle to a Draw in Thrilling Middleweight Bout

In an electrifying 10-round middleweight contest on the undercard of the Berinchyk-Davis event in New York, Vito Mielnicki Jr and Connor Coyle fought to a majority draw. The judges’ scorecards were split, with one official scoring it 96-94 for Mielnicki Jr, while the other two saw it as a 95-95 draw.

The fight began with Coyle controlling the center of the ring, but Mielnicki quickly adjusted and pushed his opponent back by the end of the first round. As the bout progressed, Mielnicki’s right hand became increasingly effective, forcing Coyle to retreat further in the third round. The fourth round saw intense exchanges, with Coyle briefly stunning Mielnicki despite suffering a cut above his left eye.

Mielnicki’s right uppercut caused the cut, adding urgency to Coyle’s strategy. The Irish fighter’s output decreased significantly in the middle rounds, landing only single punches in the fifth and sixth. By the eighth round, Mielnicki’s strong left jab had caused Coyle’s nose to bleed, though the eye injury seemed to have stabilized temporarily.

In the ninth round, the 34-year-old Coyle found success with his uppercut once again, reopening Mielnicki’s left eye. Heading into the final round, Mielnicki’s corner urged him to finish strong. The 21-year-old fighter from New Jersey responded by employing aggressive tactics and closing out the fight with intensity.

Despite appearing confident of victory, Mielnicki (now 20-1-1, 12 KOs) seemed disappointed with the draw decision. Coyle (21-0-1, 9 KOs) can take pride in his performance, maintaining his undefeated record in a closely contested battle.
