Undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela Fundora is set to further cement her status as a premier female boxer when she takes on Marilyn Badillo tonight at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California.

Known as ‘Sweet Poison’, the popular Fundora holds an impressive undefeated record of 15 wins with 7 knockouts. She is currently the sport`s youngest undisputed world champion, possessing the full collection of WBO, WBA, IBF, and WBC flyweight belts. These titles will all be on the line against Badillo, who enters the bout as the IBF number one contender with a record of 19 wins (3 KOs) and one draw.

“In my last fight, I made history by becoming the youngest undisputed champion globally,” stated Gabriela Fundora, whose brother, Sebastian, is the current WBC and WBO men’s super-welterweight champion.

She added, “I’m eager to make history once more by defending my undisputed status against Badillo, who is clearly very motivated. This marks my first time headlining an event, and I`m keen to demonstrate the extensive effort Team Fundora invests in striving for excellence.”

As for the challenger, Marilyn Badillo, nicknamed `La Mexicana`, she is 25 years old and remains undefeated in 20 professional fights, including a draw. Many observers believe Badillo has yet to face competition at Fundora`s elite level. Consequently, the multi-belt champion is widely considered a strong favorite, potentially aiming for another stoppage victory. However, Badillo remains confident in her ability.

“I dedicated significant effort to earn this opportunity to contend for the undisputed championship,” commented Marilyn Badillo. “I`m thrilled about making my debut in the United States and aiming to make a notable impact in women’s boxing.”

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya commented, “This bout has the potential to be a truly memorable event. With women`s boxing experiencing peak popularity, Fundora is clearly at the forefront of this movement.”

The undercard features highly-rated super-welterweight Charles Conwell (21 wins, 16 KOs, 0 losses), who is expected to challenge for a world title in the near future. Conwell, known as ‘Bad News’ from Cleveland, will face Jorge Garcia Perez (32 wins, 26 KOs, 4 losses). Perez from Sinaloa is recognized for his punching power and has never been stopped in his professional career.

“I`m very enthusiastic about competing against a top-10 ranked opponent,” stated Charles Conwell. “It`s my chance to demonstrate my capabilities to the global audience.”

Additional fights on the card include appearances by Tristan Kalkreuth, Ruslan Abdullaev, Joel Iriarte, Jorge Chavez, Joshua Edwards, Dalis Kaleiopu, and Samuel Torres. Former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk is also scheduled to fight as he continues his return to the sport.
