Gilbert Burns successfully completed his weigh-in obligations. Now, the real test awaits him in the octagon.
At the official weigh-ins held Friday for UFC Vegas 106, Burns registered a weight of 170 pounds for his scheduled bout against Michael Morales. Burns, a former contender for the welterweight title, is set to face the undefeated Morales in Saturday`s main event taking place at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas.
Morales officially weighed in at 170.5 pounds.
In the event`s second-to-last fight, light heavyweights Paul Craig and Rodolfo Bellato also successfully made weight. Craig came in at 205 pounds, while Bellato weighed 205.5 pounds.
All twenty-four fighters scheduled to compete hit the scales Friday morning, and every single one successfully made their contracted weight limit. This included Sodiq Yusuff and Mairon Santos, both stepping up a division to lightweight, and Julian Erosa and Melquizael Costa, who are opening the main card on relatively short notice.
