At UFC Mexico, standout performances led to bonuses for several fighters, notably newcomers David Martinez and Ateba Gautier.
Four fighters – Martinez, Gautier, Edgar Chairez, and Manuel Torres – each received a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus at the event in Mexico City`s Arena CDMX on Saturday.
Martinez and Gautier made unforgettable UFC debuts, both recent graduates who secured spectacular knockouts.
Martinez quickly defeated Saimon Oliveira, who was returning after two years, with strikes in the first round. Gautier also impressed in the first round, finishing Jose Daniel Medina with a knockout at the end of the preliminary card.
Chairez earned a bonus with an emotional victory, submitting CJ Vergara via rear-naked choke in the first round.
Torres continued his bonus streak, securing his fourth in the UFC by defeating veteran Drew Dober in under two minutes.
