Confirmed sources indicate that a strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Tabatha Ricci is scheduled for the undercard of UFC 318, set to take place on July 19.
The pay-per-view event will be headlined by a highly anticipated five-round BMF title fight in New Orleans, featuring Louisiana native Dustin Poirier, who has stated this will be his retirement bout, against current BMF titleholder Max Holloway.
Amanda Ribas (12-6 overall, 7-5 UFC) holds a 5-2 record specifically within the UFC`s strawweight division. This includes a significant 2021 decision victory over the now number one ranked strawweight, Virna Jandiroba. Ribas`s career has seen her frequently move between weight classes, which has influenced her overall UFC win-loss record. She is currently looking to end a two-fight losing streak, having recently faced Rose Namajunas and Mackenzie Dern.
Tabatha Ricci (11-3 overall) has a 6-2 record in the UFC`s 115-pound division since her organizational debut in 2021, which was a loss at flyweight to Manon Fiorot. Her successful strawweight run includes decision wins against veteran fighters such as Gillian Robertson, Angela Hill, and Tecia Pennington. Ricci is also aiming to return to the win column after suffering a defeat to Yan Xiaonan in November.
