All 26 competitors scheduled to compete at Saturday`s UFC 316 event successfully made weight during the official weigh-ins held Friday in Newark, New Jersey. This confirms the fight card is set for the upcoming event.
Headlining the card is the men`s bantamweight championship rematch between reigning champion Merab Dvalishvili and challenger Sean O’Malley. Both fighters successfully weighed in at the required 135 pounds.
In the co-main event, the women`s bantamweight title will be on the line as champion Julianna Peña faces challenger Kayla Harrison. Both Peña and Harrison hit the 135-pound mark. Notably, this is the first time Harrison has made the 135-pound bantamweight limit in her UFC career, having previously competed at 136 pounds in non-title bouts.
The official weigh-ins began earlier in the day, followed by the ceremonial weigh-ins later in the afternoon.
