Sports news ยป Timmy Cuamba Blasts Roberto Romero with Flying Knee Knockout at UFC Kansas City

Timmy Cuamba decisively finished Roberto Romero in the second round of their bout at UFC Kansas City on Saturday. While Cuamba had hurt Romero earlier in the fight, a spectacular flying knee ultimately secured the emphatic victory.

Following a competitive opening round, Cuamba took control in the second. He first stunned Romero with a precisely timed jab, then followed up with a head kick that Romero surprisingly absorbed. However, Romero could not withstand Cuamba`s subsequent devastating flying knee, which immediately sent him crashing to the canvas.

Cuamba pursued Romero to the ground and continued to deliver strikes, but the referee promptly halted the contest at the 3:55 mark of the second round, deeming Romero unable to continue.

“That was just thanks to my team,” Cuamba commented on his performance. “Going into the second round, I told myself it`s time to be great and that`s what I did. I noticed he kept ducking a lot so I knew he was going to be there [for the knee].”

This win marks a significant moment for Cuamba, who had previously dropped two decision losses in his initial UFC appearances. This time, he demonstrated a well-rounded skillset coupled with a crucial finishing instinct once he had Romero visibly hurt by clean strikes in the second round.

The highlight-reel flying knee knockout earns Cuamba his first victory in his developing UFC career.
