Sheeraz Aims for Title but Faces Tough Test Against Adames

Rising British middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz has drawn comparisons to boxing legend Tommy Hearns after an impressive 2024 campaign. Now Sheeraz faces his biggest challenge yet as he takes on WBC champion Carlos Adames for the coveted middleweight title.

Standing 6’3″ with devastating power, it’s easy to see why Sheeraz has been likened to Hearns. The 25-year-old extended his knockout streak to 15 straight wins last year with three impressive victories, including first-round stoppages of Liam Williams and Ammo Williams.

Sheeraz capped off 2024 by demolishing European champion Tyler Denny in just two rounds at Wembley Stadium. Now 21-0 with 17 KOs, Sheeraz has his sights set on world title glory.

However, WBC champ Carlos Adames presents a serious obstacle. The Dominican puncher is 24-1 with 18 KOs and widely considered the second-best middleweight behind unified champion Janibek Alimkhanuly.

Adames won the interim WBC title in 2022 by stopping Juan Macias Montiel. He was elevated to full champion in 2024 after Jermall Charlo was stripped. Adames then outpointed Terrell Gausha in his first title defense.

Known for his aggressive style, Adames may look to meet the taller Sheeraz head-on rather than fight at range. His experience and calculated pressure could trouble the rising British star.

Yet if Sheeraz lives up to the hype, another spectacular knockout could be in store as he aims to become Britain’s newest world champion. This clash of styles promises fireworks as Sheeraz faces his toughest test to date against the battle-tested Adames.
