Waiting for his opportunity at a world title, tough super-welterweight Serhii Bohachuk is scheduled to fight veteran American boxer Mykal Fox to remain active.

This bout will be the main event of a UFC Fight Pass broadcast promoted by Tom Loeffler`s 360 Promotions, taking place at the Commerce Casino in California on May 17th.

Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KOs) recently secured a dominant sixth-round knockout win over Ishmael Davis in December. This victory followed a controversial majority decision loss to Vergil Ortiz Jr. in a competitive fight where the 29-year-old Ukrainian demonstrated his formidable power by knocking Ortiz down twice, ultimately losing a very close contest.

Despite the setback, Bohachuk, who holds the number-one ranking with the WBC, is clearly established as a top contender in the super-welterweight division (154 lbs).

His most direct path to a world championship would involve challenging Sebastian Fundora, who holds the WBC and WBO world titles. Bohachuk and Fundora were actually expected to fight last year, but Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs) stepped in to face Tim Tszyu after Keith Thurman withdrew.

Fundora, known as `The Towering Inferno`, won a hard-fought split decision against Tszyu and recently defended his unified belts with a fourth-round knockout victory over Chordale Booker last month. However, it seems Fundora`s promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, is currently negotiating with Top Rank, who promote WBO mandatory challenger Xander Zayas (21-0, 13 KOs), potentially setting up a fight between them on a Premier Boxing Champions event later this year.

This potential development leaves Bohachuk in a holding pattern, facing a less challenging opponent in Mykal Fox, a former super-lightweight contender, while awaiting his own world title opportunity.

The 360 Promotions card also features other bouts, including Mizuki Hiruta defending her WBO world super-flyweight championship against Carla Merino, and undefeated prospect Omar Trinidad fighting Alexander Espinoza.
