Former UFC fighters Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans will face each other in a boxing match, and another exciting bout has been added to the event.
It was announced that Diego Sanchez, the original winner of The Ultimate Fighter, will compete against John Makdessi at ICS Mania 1. The event is scheduled for April 12 at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The main event of the evening will be the rematch between Jackson and Evans, both former UFC light heavyweight champions.
While the card includes several well-known names from the UFC, the event’s date is somewhat unusual. It is scheduled for the same day as UFC 314, which is expected to be one of UFC’s biggest events in a while.
Sanchez is aiming for his first victory in combat sports in over five years. His last win was in February 2020 at UFC Rio Rancho, where he won due to his opponent’s disqualification. In his most recent fight, Sanchez was defeated by Austin Trout in February 2023 at BKFC KnuckleMania 3.
Makdessi will be returning to competition for the first time since his last UFC fight in September 2023 at UFC 293, which he lost.
