Sports news ยป Ronaldo Rodriguez Details Weight Cut Issues and Loss at UFC Mexico

Ronaldo Rodriguez`s UFC Mexico appearance could hardly have gone worse.

Known as “Lazy Boy,” Rodriguez not only suffered a clear unanimous decision defeat against underdog Kevin Borjas but also failed to make weight by one pound before the fight and reportedly needed hospitalization afterwards.

Rodriguez shared images and a video on Instagram documenting his health challenges.

Appearing alongside his wife Nina, Rodriguez seemed in good spirits despite his first loss in the UFC. The 25-year-old, with a large Instagram following of over two million, had previously won against Ode Osbourne and Denys Bondar in the UFC, but his seven-fight winning streak was broken by Borjas.

Rodriguez was also fined 20% of his fight earnings for weighing in at 127 pounds on Friday, exceeding the flyweight limit for non-title fights by one pound.

In a previous online post, Rodriguez stated clearly that he is not offering any excuses for the defeat.
