Sports news ยป Report: Burglar Steals Henry Cejudo’s First UFC Championship Belt

The month of April has been quite eventful for Henry Cejudo, and it`s only just begun.

Recently, Cejudo reportedly assisted in detaining a suspect who allegedly crashed a car into his neighbor`s property and then physically attacked the neighbor. Now, it seems Cejudo himself has become a victim of crime.

On Tuesday, Dylan Rush, Cejudo`s producer, shared a video on Instagram detailing an incident where a burglar broke into Cejudo`s studio at 4:45 a.m. while the former Olympic gold medalist and two-division UFC champion was asleep inside. The burglar reportedly stole Cejudo`s original UFC championship belt.

According to Rush`s statement, he was sleeping on the couch in the studio when the break-in occurred. He woke up and initially mistook the intruder for Cejudo due to the darkness. Rush then heard a crash, which was the sound of a shelf falling, and the burglar fled the scene.

Henry Cejudo`s first UFC title victory was against Demetrious Johnson at UFC 227, where he won the flyweight belt in their rematch. He later achieved bantamweight champion status by defeating Marlon Moraes at UFC 238. Cejudo briefly retired from MMA in 2020 but returned to the UFC in 2023. Since his return, he has experienced three losses, most recently a technical decision loss to Song Yadong at UFC Seattle in February.
