Rei Tsuruya Replaces Bruno Silva to Face Joshua Van at UFC 313

A change has been made to the UFC 313 fight card. Bruno Silva has withdrawn from his scheduled flyweight bout against Joshua Van. Undefeated prospect Rei Tsuruya will now step in as Silva’s replacement for the upcoming pay-per-view event.

Joshua Van, currently ranked 15th in the UFC flyweight division, had a busy 2024 with four fights and three victories. The 23-year-old’s most recent win came against Cody Durden at UFC 310 in December, where he secured a unanimous decision.

Rei Tsuruya, the 22-year-old Road to UFC Season 2 flyweight champion, made a successful UFC debut last year. He defeated Carlos Hernandez by unanimous decision at UFC 303. Tsuruya was originally slated to compete at UFC 312 against Stewart Nicoll, but the bout was canceled due to Nicoll’s injury.

UFC 313 is scheduled for March 8 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main event features a light heavyweight title fight between Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev. The co-main event will showcase a five-round lightweight clash between Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker.
