Wembley Stadium in London is being considered as a location for a possible rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois.

The two boxers initially fought on August 26, 2023, in Poland. In that match, Usyk, who held the IBF, WBO, and WBA world champion titles, defeated Dubois. Dubois, the WBA’s Regular champion and mandatory challenger, was aiming to establish himself as a top-tier boxer after a previous defeat in 2020.

However, Usyk demonstrated his superior boxing skills, utilizing his agility and experience to outmaneuver Dubois. A controversial moment occurred in the fifth round when Dubois landed a powerful shot that dropped Usyk. The referee ruled it a low blow, allowing Usyk time to recover. Usyk then regained control, knocking down Dubois in the eighth round and ultimately winning the fight in the ninth.

Dubois’ team was unhappy with the referee’s decision, arguing that the punch was legal. Despite the defeat, Dubois achieved significant wins against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic. After Usyk vacated the IBF title, Dubois became the full IBF champion and successfully defended it at Wembley Stadium.

Following Usyk’s rematch victory, Dubois has called for a second fight against Usyk.
