UFC fighter Sedriques Dumas remains incarcerated following his arrest in April on multiple charges, including home invasion, battery, and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon.

Documents obtained by MMA Fighting, specifically the police report from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, detail the circumstances of Dumas`s arrest, which reportedly originated from a domestic dispute involving the fighter and the mother of his children.

According to the police account, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. A woman, identified as Dumas`s ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, stated that Dumas entered her home through an unlocked front door. She claims he then “aggressively” forced open the back door and “forcefully” snatched her phone from her hand while she was speaking with her current boyfriend. He then reportedly returned inside.

The victim told police she followed Dumas inside, demanding her phone back and informing him she was calling the police. According to her statement, Dumas allegedly responded, “if I’m going to jail then I’m going to get my rings back.”

The report states Dumas then allegedly attempted to forcefully remove a ring from the victim`s finger but was unsuccessful. The victim further claimed that Dumas then “threw her around the room,” causing her to hit a large wooden vase, before allegedly taking a necklace valued at $400 from her neck and leaving.

Dumas allegedly took the necklace and phone with him as he left in his black BMW. He reportedly returned briefly afterward and threw the phone back into the front yard from his vehicle. The victim stated she asked a passerby to call 911 and later informed officers that Dumas had previously lived at the residence but moved out in December.

Police noted the victim was visibly distressed, described as “crying and shaking.” They observed “fresh scratches and bruises on her right leg and right arm,” as well as “several small fresh scratch marks on her fingers,” according to the report.

While officers were at the scene, the victim reportedly received calls from Dumas and text messages and calls from a person she identified as his new girlfriend. One text from the girlfriend allegedly read, “You OK, please don’t put him in jail.”

Authorities documented the victim`s injuries with photographs and also photographed the call logs and texts from Dumas and his girlfriend. The victim also provided police with a photo of herself wearing the necklace that was allegedly taken.

Deputies later located Dumas`s black BMW parked at a different residence. They made contact with his new girlfriend, who reportedly granted them permission to search the property and backyard.

It was there, in a shed at the rear of the property, that Dumas was allegedly discovered “hiding in a dog crate” and subsequently detained by authorities.

A search of Dumas`s vehicle was conducted, yielding several findings. Police reportedly located “a large clear plastic bag full of marijuana” weighing approximately 51 grams. Inside a UFC bag, they allegedly found a black Beretta handgun along with what were described as “prescribed” drugs.

The police report notes that officers were aware of Dumas`s profession as a UFC fighter due to prior interactions.

The vehicle search also reportedly uncovered “several half burnt marijuana joints” and a “broken piece of necklace” found on the driver`s side floorboard.

Following his arrest, Dumas reportedly agreed to speak with officers. He claimed he had permission to visit the victim`s residence to retrieve “items that belonged to him.” He stated the front door was unlocked, prompting him to enter.

Dumas`s account differs significantly from the victim`s. He claimed the victim gave him the necklace and that when he asked for the ring, she refused and “started hitting him.” He also alleged she threw the wooden vase at him and caused the scratches on his leg.

Regarding his location upon arrest, Dumas reportedly told police that his girlfriend informed him the police had arrived, leading him to hide in the shed.

Police did note and photograph fresh cuts on Dumas`s leg.

Authorities reportedly took Dumas`s valid medical marijuana card into evidence. They also conducted a records check which indicated Dumas was a convicted felon from an incident in 2024.

Based on the findings, police seized Dumas`s BMW. The marijuana, half-burnt joints, a marijuana grinder, and the Beretta handgun were all collected and submitted as evidence.

Police determined that, based on the facts and circumstances, they had “probable cause” to arrest Dumas on multiple charges: home invasion/robbery, battery (classified as domestic violence), possession of over 20 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Dumas was transported to jail, where he remains in custody with a bond set at $558,500. His next scheduled court appearance is May 23.

The 29-year-old fighter had competed recently, just two weeks before his arrest, where he lost to Michał Oleksiejczuk via first-round TKO. As of the report, UFC officials had not responded to a request for comment regarding Dumas`s arrest.
