PFL Sets Stage for 2025 World Tournament Launch in Orlando
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has revealed its plans for the commencement of the 2025 season, with Orlando, Florida serving as the inaugural host city.
On Tuesday, the organization disclosed the schedule for its first four events of the year. The 2025 World Tournament will debut at Universal Studios in Orlando on April 3, followed by subsequent events at the same venue on April 11, 18, and May 1.
Departing from its previous format of regular season and playoffs, the 2025 campaign introduces an eight-fighter, single-elimination tournament. The competition will feature eight weight divisions: heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight, lightweight, featherweight, bantamweight, and flyweight. Notably, the flyweight category will be the sole women’s tournament this season.
The roster of participants for the upcoming season has yet to be announced.
Each tournament victor will receive a prize of $500,000, a reduction from the $1,000,000 award of previous seasons.
Quarterfinal and semifinal matches will consist of three five-minute rounds, while the finals will extend to five five-minute rounds. The semifinals are scheduled for June 12, 20, and 27, with the location still to be determined.
The tournament finals are set for August 1, 15, and 21, also at a yet-to-be-announced venue.
PFL events will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and ESPN+ for viewers in the United States.
