Sports news ยป PFL Cancels Paris Event Scheduled for May 23rd

Professional Fighters League has once again called off an event scheduled for Paris. The tournament set for May 23rd in France has been postponed, PFL announced on Thursday morning. No specific reason for the decision was given by the promotion.

In their official statement, PFL described it as a “rescheduling” and confirmed that tickets would be refunded, but they did not provide a new date for the event. This follows a similar situation in October, when the promotion also stated that a Bellator Paris show needed to be “rescheduled for later dates”.

The cancelled Paris card was notable for the anticipated MMA debut of former France national football captain and Manchester United player Patrice Evra, though the event was pulled before an opponent was even named for him.

The planned main event featured local lightweight Mansour Barnaoui taking on Archie Colgan. PFL has not yet indicated if the bouts from the cancelled card, including the PFL Europe bantamweight contests, will be relocated to upcoming events.
