PFL Africa is set to make its highly anticipated debut on the continent sooner than originally scheduled.

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced on Tuesday that the date for its first-ever event in Africa has been moved forward from July 26th to July 19th.

This significant PFL Africa event will take place at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa. The showcase is structured as two distinct parts. The latter portion is a PFL Champions Series: Road to Dubai event, headlined by the reigning middleweight champion Johnny Eblen defending his title against Costello van Steenis.

In the co-main event for the Champions Series card, the undefeated flyweight sensation Dakota Ditcheva is scheduled to compete against Sumiko Inaba.

The initial part of the event, officially designated as PFL Africa 1, will kick off the league’s regional tournaments for Africa. This section will feature exciting matchups in both the heavyweight and bantamweight divisions. The lineup for PFL Africa 1 is listed below:

  • Nkosi Ndebele vs. Mahmoud Atef — Bantamweight
  • Maxwell Djantou Nana vs. Mikael Groguhe — Heavyweight
  • Shannon Van Tonder vs. Boule Godogo — Bantamweight
  • Jashell Ticha Awa vs. Justin Clarke — Heavyweight
  • Antero Dos Santos vs. Karim Henniene — Bantamweight
  • Abdoullah Kane vs. Mohammed Ben Yahia — Heavyweight
  • Simbarashe Hokonya vs. Alain Majorique — Bantamweight
  • Badredinne Medkouri vs. TBD — Heavyweight
  • Juliet Ukah vs. TBD

Notably, this change in schedule places the PFL event in direct competition on the same night as UFC 318. The UFC`s event is headlined by a trilogy bout between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier, which is being promoted as potentially being Poirier`s final fight.
