Paddy Pimblett is sticking to his usual post-fight routine after his most significant win yet.
Following his victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 314, where he secured a third-round finish in a five-round co-main event, Pimblett revealed a weight increase of more than 40 pounds.
Known for putting on weight after fights, “The Baddy” confirmed to UFC announcer Bruce Buffer that he had gained over 40 pounds since his win against Chandler.
“The day after the fight, I had about five milkshakes,” Pimblett mentioned. “This morning I weighed around 198 pounds, which is heavy for me.”
“That’s about my maximum weight. I rarely reach 200 pounds, except maybe when I`m in the United States. The food there really bulks me up. But back in the UK, I usually max out at around 195 pounds.”
After his win, Pimblett expressed his desire to fight former champion Charles Oliveira, aiming for a lightweight title shot around 2026.
“Yes, I want to become a world champion,” Pimblett stated at the UFC 314 post-fight press conference. “I’ve always said I will be a world champion, and fighting a former champion like Charles Oliveira – who has two title defenses and is considered the best submission artist in UFC history – is something I’d love to do. I believe my submissions are even better than Charles Oliveira’s.”
