Sports news ยป Olympic Wrestler Kyle Snyder Arrested in Prostitution Sting, Bodycam Released

Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested on May 9th in Columbus, Ohio, as part of a prostitution sting operation. Reports indicate he was cooperative with law enforcement officers during the incident.

Bodycam footage reveals Snyder was detained by police following an undercover operation initiated through an online advertisement. The sting ultimately led to the arrest of 16 individuals. Snyder was formally charged with engaging in prostitution, processed, and subsequently released at the scene. His initial court date is scheduled for May 19th.

During the arrest at a local Quality Inn and Suites, the acclaimed three-time Olympic wrestler was reportedly not wearing pants. Officers provided assistance by helping him put on shorts, allegedly mentioning they wished to spare him a potentially embarrassing walk down the hotel hallway.

A police report confirms Snyder`s arrest and notes that $160 in cash was confiscated as evidence. This followed an alleged offer of money by Snyder to an undercover officer in exchange for a sexual act.

While being taken into custody, Snyder reportedly gave his personal information to officers and inquired about the consequences of admitting guilt to the charges. Police explained that a likely outcome would be a monetary fine and mandatory attendance at a “John school,” an educational program aimed at individuals who solicit sex.

The news of Snyder`s arrest emerged shortly after the 29-year-old wrestler announced he had signed a contract to compete in the newly formed Real American Freestyle league, co-founded by WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff.

Kyle Snyder is widely regarded as one of the most decorated wrestlers in United States history. His achievements include two Olympic medals, seven medals from the World Wrestling Championships, and three NCAA National Championships won while competing for Ohio State University.

To date, Kyle Snyder has not issued any public comments regarding the circumstances of his arrest.
