Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blades is already recognized as one of the world`s top wrestlers. She`s also gaining a reputation for consistently executing her signature suplex move during competition.
Much like a memorable moment from her matches at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Blades effectively uses the suplex whenever she finds an opportunity to lift and slam her opponents onto the mat, often creating a highlight-reel spectacle. During the Olympics, one opponent landed so hard after the move that she required medical transport afterwards.
Fortunately, her recent use of the suplex during tournament competition on Friday did not result in injury. However, Blades once again grabbed her opponent and launched her skyward in a stunning display of strength on the mats.
Blades showcased dominance throughout the match, securing a decisive 13-0 technical fall victory to advance in the tournament.
The 21-year-old wrestling prodigy trained under coach Israel Martinez, who is well-known in the MMA community for working with numerous elite fighters, including UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones and former UFC champion Holly Holm, among others.
Kennedy has previously hinted at a potential interest in pursuing an MMA career in the future. For now, however, her focus remains sharply on capturing a gold medal at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
