Nate Diaz Believes He Would ‘Beat the Sh*t Out of’ Belal Muhammad, Muhammad Responds

Sports news » Nate Diaz Believes He Would ‘Beat the Sh*t Out of’ Belal Muhammad, Muhammad Responds

Following his observations of UFC 315, Nate Diaz shared his strong conviction that he would easily defeat Belal Muhammad. This perspective aligns with Diaz`s well-known self-confidence, a trait familiar to anyone who has followed the career of the fighter from Stockton.

Diaz made these remarks while watching the main event of UFC 315 during a recent trip documented in a travel vlog. The fight featured Belal Muhammad against Jack Della Maddalena, a contest that saw Della Maddalena earn a competitive decision victory to claim a welterweight title.

While watching the fight, Diaz didn`t hold back on his assessment of a potential matchup with Muhammad. He expressed his desire to face him, stating emphatically, “I think I’d beat the shit out of Belal Muhammad.”

This bold statement is typical of the 40-year-old veteran, who last competed in mixed martial arts in 2022. His final fight on his UFC contract was a win via submission over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. Since departing the UFC, Diaz has participated in two boxing matches, losing to Jake Paul but later securing a win against Jorge Masvidal.

For Muhammad, the loss to Della Maddalena was his first in six years, ending an impressive streak of 11 consecutive fights without defeat. This dominant run included a significant five-round victory over Leon Edwards, which previously earned him a UFC title.

Muhammad, known as “Remember the Name,” quickly caught wind of Diaz`s comments and fired back on social media.

“Must be on the same coke as Conor,” Muhammad wrote in response.

Interestingly, Della Maddalena`s next opponent is anticipated to be Islam Makhachev, a close associate and training partner of Muhammad. Makhachev is expected to move up a weight class for this bout sometime in the latter half of 2025.

It seems Diaz wasn`t previously familiar with Della Maddalena, the fighter who defeated Muhammad. During the broadcast of UFC 315, Diaz openly admitted, “I don’t know the other guy.” The Australian fighter`s rise likely came as a surprise to him.
