Muhammad Mokaev has an opponent for his debut in Karate Combat.
The former UFC flyweight standout is scheduled to compete against Bolat Zamanbekov on May 2 in Dubai, officials confirmed. This bantamweight match will be the co-main event and is planned for three three-minute rounds under Karate Combat regulations.
Karate Combat 54 is anticipated to be headlined by a heavyweight battle between champion Sam Alvey and Tyrone Spong.
Considered a top flyweight in MMA, Mokaev achieved a 7-0 record in the UFC, securing notable wins over Manel Kape, Alex Perez, and Tim Elliott before his departure from the promotion last July. He swiftly defeated Joevincent So in his Brave CF return in December, boosting his professional record to 13-0.
Zamanbekov`s MMA record stands at 8-3, with his most recent loss being a submission to Avazbek Kholmirzaev at ONE Championship in February. The Kazakhstani fighter has won eight of his nine MMA fights outside of ONE.
