LAS VEGAS — Mauricio Ruffy has emerged as a leading contender for the 2025 Knockout of the Year award after his performance at the latest UFC pay-per-view event.
At UFC 313, in the opening lightweight main card fight, Ruffy faced veteran King Green at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight began at a measured pace, before Ruffy landed a powerful punch, quickly followed by a sensational spinning heel kick to Green’s head. Green was knocked out and fell face-first onto the mat just over two minutes into the fight.
This incredible knockout from the Fighting Nerds team member drew widespread praise from fellow UFC fighters, with many suggesting it could be the best knockout of 2025.
Following his seventh straight win, and a perfect 3-0 record in the UFC since earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, Ruffy spoke to reporters after UFC 313. He discussed his impressive finish and expressed his desire to fight Beneil Dariush next, among other topics.
