Mateusz Gamrot`s first fight assignment of 2025 has been confirmed. The Ultimate Fighting Championship recently announced that Gamrot (24-3, 1 NC) is slated to meet Ludovit Klein (23-4-1) in a significant lightweight contenders` bout scheduled for UFC Vegas 107 on May 31.
This upcoming contest is a crucial one for Gamrot, who holds a tie for the No. 10 position in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. The 34-year-old Polish fighter is looking to get back in the win column following a split decision defeat to Dan Hooker at UFC 305 last August. That result interrupted a run of three consecutive victories for Gamrot. A decorated former two-division champion under the KSW banner, Gamrot has accumulated a 7-3 record since making his debut with the UFC in 2020.
On the other side, the 30-year-old Slovakian fighter Klein has an excellent chance to make a substantial leap up the rankings if he can overcome Gamrot. After initially struggling with a 1-2 start to his UFC tenure in the featherweight division, Klein successfully transitioned to lightweight and has been outstanding, posting a 6-0-1 record in the weight class, including a current winning streak of four fights. His latest performance saw him secure a unanimous decision victory over Roosevelt Roberts last September.
The UFC Vegas 107 event on May 31 is expected to feature a main event clash between top-ranked flyweight contenders Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber.
