After five close rounds, Magomed Ankalaev became the new UFC light heavyweight champion, securing a unanimous decision victory over former two-division champion Alex Pereira. The judges’ scores were 48-47, 48-47, and 49-46.
Judges Mike Bell and Derek Cleary scored rounds one and five for Pereira, and rounds two, three, and four for Ankalaev. Judge Sal D’Amato scored round one for Pereira and rounds two, three, four, and five for Ankalaev.
