Lauren Price is the new unified welterweight world champion after a commanding victory over Natasha Jonas across ten rounds.

Price, entering as the WBA champion, now adds the WBC and IBF titles to her collection. Her next target is likely to be the winner of the upcoming rematch between Mikaela Mayer and Sandy Ryan, where the WBO belt will be contested.

At the Royal Albert Hall, Price’s superior speed was the defining factor. It allowed the 30-year-old to control the fight and effectively neutralize any threat from Jonas.

From the opening bell, Price pushed Jonas onto the back foot, making an immediate impact by winning the early exchanges. While Jonas attempted to counter with body shots, Price quickly adjusted, maintaining distance and preventing Jonas from implementing this tactic effectively.

The arena echoed with chants of “Pricey” as her fans celebrated her performance. Throughout the fight, Jonas searched for a decisive punch, but Price consistently accumulated points, landing sharp jabs and powerful right hands that frequently disrupted Jonas’s balance.

By the midway point, Price had undeniably won every round. Her relaxed stance and agility in the ring showcased her potential as a future star, while Jonas, despite her own distinguished career, struggled to keep pace.

Jonas had brief moments of success, but the speed difference in their punches was noticeable. Price grew in confidence as the fight progressed. Even though Jonas landed a strong left hand in the final moments, Price responded instantly, eager to engage and outfight her opponent.

The judges awarded Price a clear unanimous decision with scores of 98-93, 100-90, and 98-92. Price extends her undefeated record to 9-0, including 2 knockouts, while Jonas’s record now stands at 16-3-1, with 9 knockouts, after this third career loss.
