Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev are set to clash again this Saturday at UFC 313, and their initial encounter was truly memorable.

These lightweights previously headlined the co-main event in London in March 2023, delivering an exciting striking contest that lived up to all expectations. Gaethje emerged victorious from the three-round fight via majority decision. Interestingly, the judges’ scorecards varied, with different rounds being awarded to Gaethje and a 10-8 score in the third round from one judge.
Both fighters earned a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus. This was another accolade for these fan-favorite strikers, with Gaethje boasting 13 bonuses in 13 UFC appearances and Fiziev securing six in just nine appearances.
The rematch came about after a planned fight between Gaethje and Dan Hooker was cancelled due to Hooker’s hand injury. Fiziev quickly offered to step in and was granted the opportunity, surpassing other eager lightweight contenders. This marks his first fight since a knee injury in a loss to Mateusz Gamrot in September 2023.
Gaethje vs. Fiziev will once again serve as the co-main event on pay-per-view, preceding the UFC 313 main event between light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev.
