Josh Padley is aiming to return to winning form after his recent defeat to WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson in the ninth round.
The 29-year-old boxer showed great resilience in the fight against Stevenson in February, getting up from the canvas three times, especially considering he took the fight on short notice.
Following his courageous performance, Padley signed a promotional agreement with Eddie Hearn`s Matchroom Boxing, which allowed him to leave his job as an electrician.
Despite losing to the highly-rated Stevenson, Padley has significantly raised his profile and benefited financially from his bravery in the ring.
It has been announced that Padley (15-1, 4 KOs) will next fight against Marko Cvetanovic of Serbia on April 19.
This upcoming fight will be held at the Park Community Arena in Sheffield, England, as part of the undercard for the Dalton Smith vs Mathieu Germain event.
Cvetanovic, who is undefeated in his 13 professional fights, has yet to compete against high-level opponents or in bouts scheduled for more than six rounds.
This match will also be Cvetanovic`s first time fighting outside of his home country. Padley will be looking to secure his first victory since defeating Mark Chamberlain last year.
Looking beyond his Matchroom debut, Padley is expected to participate in a series of more significant and appealing fights.
For example, former world super-featherweight champion Joe Cordina has already expressed interest in fighting Padley, who has proven he is not afraid of challenges after facing one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
