Jon Jones’ status regarding his return to the octagon remains uncertain.

The reigning UFC heavyweight champion last competed in November, securing a dominant victory over Stipe Miocic in his first title defense at UFC 309. Since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating a unification bout against interim titleholder Tom Aspinall. While UFC CEO Dana White has repeatedly expressed confidence that the fight will happen, Jones himself has offered minimal public comment on the situation.

On Monday, “Bones” addressed fans on Twitter from Thailand, touching upon his future plans.

When asked about potentially being stripped of his title, Jones responded, “Stripped? Lol, do I come across as the type of person who cares about things like that?”

Jones further indicated that he communicated his intentions for future bouts to the UFC some time ago, suggesting the public is currently unaware of these plans. “Y’all barking up the wrong tree,” Jones wrote. “I told the UFC my plans a long time ago. I have no clue why they haven’t shared them with you guys yet.”

Jones made his return after a multi-year absence, having vacated the light heavyweight title, to capture a belt in a second division at UFC 285. Following Francis Ngannou`s departure from the UFC, Jones defeated Ciryl Gane via first-round submission in March 2023 to claim the heavyweight title. He has competed only once since that fight. Uncertainty persists regarding a potential matchup with Aspinall and the overall direction of the UFC`s heavyweight division in 2025 and beyond.
