Professional Fighters League is making its inaugural trip to Africa on July 26 with an event in Cape Town. This historic card will feature a Champions Series portion headlined by two undefeated prominent fighters: Johnny Eblen and Dakota Ditcheva.
Eblen, the former Bellator champion boasting a flawless 16-0 record, is scheduled to defend his middleweight (185-pound) belt against Costello van Steenis. Meanwhile, Dakota Ditcheva, the reigning 2024 PFL flyweight champion, will compete in a non-title contest against Sumiko Inaba.
The event will also mark the launch of the PFL Africa section, initiating the continental eight-man tournaments in the heavyweight and bantamweight divisions.
Johnny Eblen (16-0) most recently defended his title with a unanimous decision victory over Fabian Edwards in their rematch. Costello van Steenis (16-3) heads into this fight following impressive finishes against Gregory Babene in Bellator and Joao Vitor Dantas in PFL.
Dakota Ditcheva (14-0) secured the PFL Europe tournament title in 2023 by finishing all three of her opponents that year. She has maintained her incredible momentum in 2024 with three dominant first-round stoppages and a championship victory over former Bellator champion Taila Santos.
Sumiko Inaba (8-1) competed exclusively under the Bellator banner throughout her career before transitioning to PFL after the merger. Her most recent appearance saw her finish Mackenzie Stiller in September 2024.
