Jean Silva didn’t waste any time trying to get under Bryce Mitchell’s skin.
Silva and Mitchell are scheduled to fight at UFC 314, which takes place April 12 in Miami. The featherweight bout is part of a stacked card that includes a vacant championship fight in that same division in the main event between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes.
On Friday, ahead of this weekend’s UFC 313 event, Silva and Mitchell participated in a UFC 314 press conference, where Silva trolled Mitchell with a globe.
When Mitchell was asked his first question — to a loud chorus of boos from the crowd — he was asked if he wanted to say anything in regards to his comments calling Adolf Hitler “a good guy,” and questioning the holocaust on his podcast. Before he could speak, Silva interrupted him before starting a “F*ck Bryce Mitchell” chant, which the fans joined in on.
Eventually, Mitchell clapped back at Silva.
“You’re barking up the wrong tree, motherf*cker,” Mitchell said.
Silva went on to walk towards Mitchell with the globe, continuously attempting to troll “Thug Nasty,” before Jon Anik stepped in and moved the press conference along.
The fighters would go face-to-face for the first time in an intense staredown on stage.
