Jarrell Miller Responds to Boxing Board Following Wardley Incident

Jarrell Miller is focused on more than just a ‘diss song’ as he prepares for his fight against Fabio Wardley on June 7th.

The tension between the two heavyweights nearly erupted into a physical fight at last week`s press conference. Miller, with a record of 26 wins, 1 loss, and 2 draws (22 KOs), reacted emotionally and lightly slapped his opponent.

This outburst from ‘Big Baby’ was triggered by a supposed ‘diss song’ called ‘Big Baby Killer’. However, Wardley, who remains undefeated at 18 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw (17 KOs), claims to know nothing about this song.

Miller`s unprofessional behavior at Portman Road, the venue for their June fight, has drawn a strong reaction from the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC).

Robert Smith, General Secretary of the BBBofC, sent a letter to Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions, the event`s promoter, on Thursday stating:

“Please inform Mr. Miller’s team that we are closely monitoring his conduct. Any repetition of his behavior from the April 7th, 2025 press conference in Ipswich could lead to the denial of his license to box in the UK, disciplinary actions, and a potential fine.

“Consequently, we have decided to hold a percentage of Mr. Miller’s fight earnings with the Board before the bout, and I will advise on the specific amount later.”

Miller revealed the letter in an Instagram post, also calling boxing a ‘dirty’ business and declaring he would not pay anything.

The BBBofC’s decision to withhold a portion of Miller’s purse follows a recent £100,000 fine imposed on Chris Eubank Jr last month.

These financial penalties will contribute to the Board’s registered charity, which supports retired boxers and their families.

Despite Miller’s apparent refusal to forfeit part of his earnings, his past positive tests for performance-enhancing drugs could weaken his position.

Regardless, Wardley will have the advantage of fighting on home ground at Ipswich Town’s stadium when they potentially clash for the WBA ‘regular’ title in June.
