Jake Paul is scheduled to return to the boxing ring this summer.
It has been officially confirmed that Paul will fight former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a cruiserweight bout. The event is scheduled for June 28 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, and will be broadcast on DAZN pay-per-view.
Paul will be making his first appearance in 2025, following his victory over Mike Tyson in November. After his only professional defeat to Tommy Fury in February 2023, Paul has since secured five consecutive wins. These include a victory by decision against Nate Diaz in August 2023 and a sixth-round knockout against BKFC star Mike Perry last July.
Before this matchup, there were discussions about a potential fight between Paul and Canelo Alvarez in May. However, this fight did not happen after Alvarez signed a deal with Turki Alalshikh`s Riyadh Season promotion.
Chavez Jr. is currently on a two-fight winning streak, including a decision victory over former UFC middleweight Uriah Hall last July at the Paul vs. Perry event. Chavez Jr. also fought former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva in June 2021, losing by decision in Mexico.
The co-main event will feature Gilberto Ramirez against Yuniel Dorticos in a cruiserweight championship fight.
