Israel Adesanya has faced numerous obstacles throughout his fighting career, but a recent session in the gym may have presented his most formidable challenge yet.
The acclaimed UFC fighter, known as “The Last Stylebender,” recently teamed up with David Goggins, a renowned fitness coach and motivational speaker notorious for his extremely demanding workout regimens. Adesanya partnered with Goggins to enhance his physical conditioning as he continues training between bouts. In a video blog shared by Adesanya, a revealing moment captured him vomiting mid-workout during one of Goggins` grueling sessions.
This isn`t the first instance of Goggins making headlines for working with a prominent UFC athlete. He famously collaborated with former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson in preparation for Ferguson`s fight against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296. Unfortunately for Ferguson, the training appeared to offer little assistance inside the octagon, as he ultimately suffered a unanimous decision loss to Pimblett, extending his losing streak to seven consecutive fights.
Adesanya currently does not have a fight scheduled and is exploring the best path to overcome his own recent run of three consecutive defeats. After successfully reclaiming the UFC middleweight championship from long-time rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya subsequently lost back-to-back fights to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov.
The complete, unedited footage of Adesanya`s training with Goggins is anticipated to be uploaded to Adesanya`s official YouTube channel in the near future.
