Ilia Topuria stated he would accept a fight with Conor McGregor if offered by the UFC, even as his first match after relinquishing the featherweight belt.

During an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Topuria mentioned, “I believe he will return. The UFC gives opportunities to fighters in their 40s, so why not Conor?”

Topuria also revealed previous discussions about a potential fight with McGregor, adding, “We had talks before. I`m focused on my current situation, and then I expect to receive calls. The UFC operates discreetly.”

He affirmed his willingness to fight McGregor, saying, “If they propose a fight with Conor now, I`m in. It would be a significant event.”

Regarding McGregor`s potential performance after a full training camp, Topuria commented, “If he were to face me, he would need a complete rebirth.”

While Topuria is interested in challenging Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title, he also expressed greater enthusiasm for a fight with Paddy Pimblett, especially after Pimblett`s victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 314.

“The Paddy fight excites me more,” Topuria explained. “It`s even more appealing than the Conor fight. If it could happen in Spain, at the Bernabéu Stadium, it would be massive.”

Topuria acknowledged Dana White`s usual reluctance to stadium events but highlighted the Bernabéu`s retractable roof and large capacity (80,000), suggesting it would be ideal for attracting fans from both Spain and England for a high-profile event against Pimblett.

He concluded by reiterating his interest in a fight in Spain against Pimblett.
