In Brighton, Harlem Eubank demonstrated superior boxing skills against Tyrone McKenna, culminating in a tenth-round stoppage. The fight concluded at 2 minutes and 9 seconds of the round, with the referee intervening after McKenna was knocked down for the third time. This defeat may influence McKenna’s previously considered retirement plans.

After a cautious start, Eubank intensified his attack in the fourth round. A powerful overhand right connected, staggering McKenna and causing a minor cut near his right eye.

McKenna initially recovered, but in the fifth round, a precise right hand sent him to the canvas, resulting in a count from referee John Latham. Despite his characteristic grin, McKenna was increasingly vulnerable.

Fighting in front of his local fans, Eubank displayed composure and tactical versatility, utilizing his jab effectively to create openings. McKenna was knocked down again near the end of the seventh round by another well-placed right hand.

McKenna showed defiance in the eighth round despite absorbing numerous body shots, a weakness previously exposed by Mohamed Mimoune. Eubank exploited this vulnerability whenever McKenna retreated.

In the tenth round, McKenna claimed a low blow, although replays were inconclusive. Despite the brief respite, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide. McKenna suffered his third knockdown, and the relentless pressure from Eubank forced the referee to stop the fight.

With this victory, 31-year-old Eubank secured the IBF Intercontinental welterweight title, extending his record to 21 wins and no losses, including 9 knockouts. 35-year-old McKenna’s record now stands at 24 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw, with 7 knockouts.

“I’m serious this year, and this fight was just the beginning. I want Conor Benn next,” Eubank declared.

“My goal this year is to challenge for world titles. I want to face all the world champions. Respect to Tyrone McKenna, a true Irish warrior. I believe I can inflict significant damage on Benn.”

Chris Eubank Sr. also expressed his desire for the Conor Benn fight, suggesting that a potential Benn fight with another opponent might collapse, paving the way for Harlem to step in as a replacement.
