Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev once again proved their exciting fighting styles by earning the Fight of the Night bonus.
In a rare repeat, these lightweight fighters received the award for their second match at UFC 313 in Las Vegas on Saturday. They previously won the same bonus for their first fight at UFC 286 in March 2023. Justin Gaethje won both fights by decision.
Their second fight was as competitive as the first. Gaethje, with more experience, increased his intensity, which Fiziev couldn’t match. Gaethje won by unanimous decision with scores of 29-28 from all judges. Fiziev received another $50,000 bonus for stepping in on short notice to replace the injured Dan Hooker.
Both Gaethje and Fiziev have impressive UFC bonus records. Gaethje has earned 14 bonuses in 14 fights, and Fiziev now has seven bonuses in 10 UFC appearances.
Winning Fight of the Night multiple times for the same matchup is unusual but has happened before in the UFC. Examples include Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz, Brandon Moreno vs. Deiveson Figueiredo, Forrest Griffin vs. Tito Ortiz, Charles Oliveira vs. Nik Lentz, and Sam Stout vs. Spencer Fisher.
Performance of the Night bonuses were awarded to Mauricio Ruffy and Ignacio Bahamondes, both lightweight fighters from the main card. Ruffy achieved a spectacular knockout of King Green with a spinning wheel kick, considered by some as the best knockout of 2025 so far. Bahamondes quickly submitted Jalin Turner with a triangle choke in under one round.
