Francis Ngannou on Dana White’s Obstacles to Jon Jones Match

Sports news ยป Francis Ngannou on Dana White’s Obstacles to Jon Jones Match

Francis Ngannou still hopes to fight Jon Jones, but he thinks it’s unlikely to happen mainly because of UFC CEO Dana White.

Ngannou mentioned that getting past Dana White is the main problem for a fight with Jones. He personally is not worried about it and is content with his current career path.

Ngannou has been wanting to fight Jon Jones for years. He feels that the UFC used the idea of a Jones fight as bait when he was considering leaving the organization.

Ngannou left the UFC as the heavyweight champion and signed with the PFL in January 2023. Since then, he has participated in two high-profile boxing matches against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Ngannou returned to MMA at a PFL event in October and won against Renan Ferreira by TKO in the first round. He is open to big fights in both MMA and boxing. While a fight with Jones would be great, Ngannou is okay if it doesn’t happen, though he believes he would win.

Ngannou stated that he has studied Jones’ light heavyweight fights extensively, but Jones has less experience at heavyweight. Ngannou considers Jones the best light heavyweight but notes his limited time fighting as a heavyweight.
