Brunno Ferreira displayed his well-rounded fighting abilities at UFC 313.
Known more for his knockout power than his jiu-jitsu skills, Ferreira achieved his first submission win in the UFC, finishing Armen Petrosyan with a smooth armbar on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The middleweight preliminary fight was action-packed. Ferreira knocked down Petrosyan in the first round and gained an advantage when Petrosyan hit him with two low blows in quick succession. After the second low blow, the referee penalized Petrosyan a point, potentially giving Ferreira a 10-8 round.
In the second round, Petrosyan complained about a low blow after Ferreira landed a body punch, though replays suggested the strike was on Petrosyan’s side. Ultimately, it didn’t matter, as Ferreira took Petrosyan to the ground and secured the fight-ending submission.
The official time of the stoppage was 4 minutes and 27 seconds into the second round.
Ferreira (13-2) now has a UFC record of 4-2, with his previous three victories all being knockouts. On the other hand, Petrosyan (9-5) has suffered his third consecutive loss, none of which have gone beyond the second round.
