Days after UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier announced his highly anticipated retirement bout against Max Holloway for the BMF title at UFC 318 in July, his wife, Jolie Poirier, shared some equally significant personal news: they are expecting their second child.
Jolie Poirier revealed the exciting update on social media, stating:
Fight news wasn’t the only secret we were keeping from you… WE’RE HAVING A BABY! Sweet P will be a BIG SISTER FINALLY.
“The Diamond” is set to step into the octagon possibly for the final time against Holloway in the main event of the UFC`s July pay-per-view card. The event is expected to be held in New Orleans, near Poirier`s hometown. This upcoming fight marks the third encounter between Poirier and Holloway, following Holloway`s promotional debut fight in 2012 and their interim lightweight title showdown at UFC 236 in 2019. Poirier was victorious in both prior matchups.
Holloway earned the BMF title in spectacular fashion with a memorable knockout victory over Justin Gaethje in the closing seconds of their fight at UFC 300 in April 2024.
