Dricus du Plessis has responded to comments made by Khamzat Chimaev.

Recent rumors suggested that the UFC middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis, might be injured. This sparked speculation about a possible delay in his anticipated championship fight against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 317 in June. Chimaev reacted to these rumors on Twitter, publicly criticizing du Plessis.

Chimaev`s tweet simply stated, “This guy biggest bullshit.”

Du Plessis directly replied to Chimaev`s post, defending himself and seemingly accusing Chimaev of hypocrisy.

In his response, Du Plessis pointed to their recent activity, saying, “Let’s take a look at the last 2.5 years and tell me who’s bullshit.”

MMA Fighting contacted sources within the UFC regarding the circulating rumors and reports. One source indicated that clarity regarding the middleweight title situation is expected soon. Another source mentioned that the current plan is for the middleweight title to be defended in the fall.

The UFC has not officially confirmed a matchup between du Plessis and Chimaev for any specific date, and there has been no public announcement regarding reports of a du Plessis injury.

Following Chimaev`s tweet, rising contender Caio Borralho has called for a fight against Chimaev, even proposing a bout for an interim title against the undefeated fighter.
