Drew Dober marked his 25th UFC fight on Saturday, but the outcome was disappointing.
The experienced lightweight fighter was knocked out in under two minutes in his UFC Mexico fight. Manuel Torres landed a right hand, followed by hammer fists. The referee`s late stoppage allowed Dober to take unnecessary hits.
Dober addressed the loss in a social media post on Sunday:
“It was bad,” Dober wrote. “Manuel Torres landed a perfect combination. I stepped into his power punch.”
Dober didn`t mention the controversial ending where he got up and tried to continue fighting after the stoppage.
This is Dober`s third UFC knockout loss, including a TKO in July against Jean Silva. The 36-year-old has lost his last three fights and four of his last five.
Dober has earned eight UFC bonuses in his career, but this time Torres received the $50,000 bonus for the knockout. Torres has now earned four bonuses in four wins.
