In a prestigious ceremony held this afternoon, Don Charles of Boxing News Magazine was awarded the esteemed Trainer of the Year title by the BBBofC. Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Daniel Dubois from the same camp received the BBBofC Boxer of the Year award.

Renowned for his seasoned coaching, particularly during his tenure with Derek Chisora, Don Charles expertly guided Daniel Dubois to two significant victories. Dubois first triumphed over Filip Hrgovic in June 2024 with an impressive knockout in round eight of their Riyadh undercard match, securing the IBF Interim title. He then successfully defended this title in a high-profile Wembley event in September, defeating Anthony Joshua with a fifth-round stoppage.

The BBBofC awards also recognized other notable achievements in boxing. The thrilling heavyweight clash between Frazer Clarke and Fabio Wardley was celebrated as Fight of the Year. Welsh referee Wynford Jones was commended for his exceptional Services to Boxing.

Further accolades included former heavyweight professional Scott Welch receiving the Commonwealth Boxing Council award, Adam Azim being named Boxing Writers Young Boxer of the Year, and Mikaela Mayer earning the BBBofC Overseas Boxer of the Year 2024 title.
