Dominick Cruz Steps In for Joe Rogan on UFC 315 Broadcast

Sports news » Dominick Cruz Steps In for Joe Rogan on UFC 315 Broadcast

Joe Rogan made it clear he wouldn`t be traveling to Canada for UFC 315, and the official broadcast team announcement confirms he has kept his word.

Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will join Jon Anik and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier in the commentary booth as the third analyst for the upcoming pay-per-view event in Montreal.

Rogan typically avoids international travel for commentary duties, and he reiterated this stance on a recent episode of his podcast.

He explicitly stated back in March, “I won’t be there… I don’t go to Canada anymore. I don’t. I’d rather go to Russia.”

His comments seemingly reflect political tensions and division regarding Canada, particularly concerning former President Donald Trump`s strained relationship with the country. Trump even reportedly joked about annexing Canada as the 51st state.

Rogan recounted a conversation with Trump where the former president joked about calling Justin Trudeau “Governor Trudeau” and mused that maybe annexing Canada was a good idea.

With Rogan stepping aside, Dominick Cruz gets the opportunity to call the fights. UFC 315 is headlined by welterweight champion Belal Muhammad making his first title defense against Jack Della Maddalena.

The co-main event features Valentina Shevchenko defending her flyweight title against French challenger Manon Fiorot.

Brendan Fitzgerald will serve as the on-site reporter in Montreal, joining the commentary team.

UFC 315 is scheduled to take place on May 10th in Montreal, with the main card airing at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
