Marlon “Chito” Vera is determined to get back to his winning ways after his UFC bantamweight title challenge.
Vera is set to compete against Mario Bautista, a rising contender, at UFC Des Moines. The event is scheduled for May 3 at the Wells Fargo Center in Iowa.
“Chito” will make his first appearance in 2025, hoping to break a winless streak from 2024. Last year, Vera fought for the bantamweight title against Sean O’Malley at UFC 299 and suffered a decision loss. He also faced Deiveson Figueiredo and lost by unanimous decision at UFC Abu Dhabi.
Bautista enters this significant fight riding a remarkable seven-fight victory streak. In his latest appearance, Bautista secured a split decision victory over former featherweight champion Jose Aldo at UFC 307.
