Charles Oliveira has been named the recipient of the 2025 Forrest Griffin Community Award.
This annual award, presented during UFC International Fight Week and personally selected by UFC CEO Dana White, recognizes fighters for their charitable contributions. Oliveira was announced as the honoree at the UFC Kansas City event for his work with the Charles doBronxs Institute, which offers hundreds of local youth opportunities for a better future through free programs in arts, education, nutrition, and jiu-jitsu.
Oliveira is set to formally receive his award at the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony in June 2025.
Dana White commented on Oliveira`s selection, saying, “Charles is not only a tremendous athlete but also an incredible role model who is dedicated to giving back to the community. He does fantastic work supporting young people in Sao Paulo, offering them free education and jiu-jitsu training at his institute, directly assisting them in building better lives for themselves. It is a great honor for me to present him with this award.”
The former UFC lightweight champion will also receive a $25,000 donation from the UFC Foundation to the charity of his choice.
Oliveira is currently awaiting his next fight assignment after securing a convincing decision victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 309 in November.
