Canelo Alvarez Signs Four-Fight Deal Including Terence Crawford Bout

Boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez has agreed to a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, putting to rest rumors of a potential match against Jake Paul. The announcement came from boxing promoter Turki Alalshikh on social media.

Terence Crawford, the undefeated WBA super-welterweight champion, confirmed his participation in the September bout, stating he plans to “shock the world.” The fight is expected to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Initially, The Ring Magazine reported that the Canelo-Crawford fight was off the table, leading to speculation about a possible Canelo-Paul matchup. However, this new deal seems to have solidified Canelo’s upcoming schedule against established professional boxers.

According to boxing journalist Mike Coppinger, Canelo’s next fight on May 4 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, could be against either Jermall Charlo or Bruno Surace. Following the Crawford bout in September, potential opponents for early 2025 include Dmitry Bivol, Hamzah Sheeraz, or Chris Eubank Jr.

The deal also includes two fights scheduled for 2026, both set to take place in Riyadh. This agreement cements Canelo’s position as one of boxing’s biggest draws and sets the stage for a series of high-profile matches over the next few years.
